£25million Diagnostic Hub for Stockton
Tees Valley Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) is part of a £25m+ investment in local diagnostic services and provides a modern, patient-focused space. It cuts waiting times and brings tests closer to home.
The centre reduces six-week waits and speeds up the cancer pathway by 15 days, helping people receive earlier diagnoses and enhancing local care in Stockton.
Operating within the NHS hub-and-spoke model, with three support sites including the University Hospital of Hartlepool, the CDC delivers over 100,000 tests each year.
Bringing Community Benefit
It serves one of the most deprived areas in the country, where an ageing population and rising demand place pressure on local services. By improving access to diagnostics, the CDC helps tackle health inequalities.
The project is part of the Stockton Waterfront regeneration. It includes the redevelopment of the former Castlegate shopping centre site and will create around 130 jobs.
Hygenius is pleased to have provided the full FF&E scope of works for the Tees Valley CDC, which will have a significant positive impact on patient and staff experience, allowing Stockton residents to receive the high-quality treatment that they require.
