Delivering Critical Infrastructure in Just 5 Days

The Corby Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) represents a shift in NHS service delivery.

Designed to cut diagnostic backlogs, this £11.7 million purpose-built facility offers rapid, elective care.

Western Build utilized advanced modular construction to complete the primary structure in just five days.

This high-speed approach allowed the centre to open months ahead of traditional building schedules. Now, the centre is set to deliver around 93,000 diagnostic tests per year.

The New Blueprint for Community Care

This facility brings advanced diagnostic technology directly to the Corby community, reducing the need for hospital travel.

By situating these vital services at the Willowbrook Health Complex, the project provides localized care tailored to regional needs.

Hygenius managed the specialized internal fit-out, providing bespoke reception desks, cabinetry, worktops, and curtain tracks.

A key highlight was the MRI suite, where we supplied specialized non-ferrous furniture.

This included a bespoke coil cabinet specifically engineered to house sensitive Siemens equipment.

A One-Stop-Shop Clinical Model

The centre functions as a “one-stop-shop,” offering specialized dementia, respiratory, and cardiology pathways.

By moving diagnostics away from Kettering General Hospital, the CDC provides a dedicated, non-emergency setting for elective scans.

Patients now benefit from faster access to CT, MRI, and ultrasound, supporting quicker diagnosis of conditions including cancer, stroke, and heart disease.

The Willowbrook project proves that modular speed and precision equipping can redefine healthcare.
