£18 Million Diagnostic Hub for Hereford 

The Wye Valley Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) is part of a national programme of around 170 CDCs across England. It gives patients faster access to diagnostics in a welcoming, non-clinical environment. 

Delivered by Speller Metcalfe for Wye Valley NHS Trust, the two storey centre sits on Holmer Road. It houses the latest MRI, CT, X-ray and ultrasound technology, plus cardiac and respiratory testing and phlebotomy.

Open seven days a week, the CDC serves patients across Herefordshire and Powys. Delivered through the NHS ProCure23 framework, the project was officially opened by the Minister of State for Care.

Faster Diagnosis, Better Outcomes 

The centre delivers 65,000 tests each year, speeding up diagnosis of conditions such as cancer and heart disease. As a result, patients receive earlier treatment and better outcomes.

By moving routine diagnostics into the community, the CDC eases pressure on Hereford County Hospital. Patients can access tests and scans at a time and place that suits them.
